Softball Recap: Williamstown Has No Trouble Against Webster County

Williamstown barely beat Webster County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Highlanders on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Alyssa Clare looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

At the plate, Kyla Myer was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayle Montgomery, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.

Williamstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Williamstown's record now sits at 9-15. As for Webster County, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamstown will head out to challenge Nitro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Webster County, they will venture away from home to face off against Greenbrier West at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
