After flying high against the Eunice Bobcats last Friday, the David Thibodaux Bulldogs came back down to earth. David Thibodaux fell to Avoyelles Charter 52-46.
Leading Avoyelles Charter to victory were Armonii Benjamin and Jalen Brown. Benjamin scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, while Brown scored 23 points along with four steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlon Williams, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
David Thibodaux's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Avoyelles Charter, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. David Thibodaux will challenge North Vermilion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Avoyelles Charter, they will head out on the road to take on Monterey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monterey will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Avoyelles Charter is ranked 63rd).
