Basketball Game Preview: Turlock Christian Eagles vs. Stockton Christian Eagles

The Turlock Christian Eagles will square off against the Stockton Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Wednesday, Turlock Christian came up short against Elliot Christian and fell 57-45.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Cam Kelley, who posted 13 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Nydam, who had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Turlock Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Stockton Christian entered their game against Vanguard College Prep on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Stockton Christian fell just short of Vanguard College Prep by a score of 64-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (61), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Stockton Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-7. As for Turlock Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Turlock Christian strolled past Stockton Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 69-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Turlock Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
