4A Conference 13 recap September 17, 2013
Panther Creek moved up to 110 from 163 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Conference 13. The Catamount climbed the ranks as a result of topping Jordan 24-0.
Athens Drive fell to Leesville Road 39-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dominique Lynch ran for 78 yards in the defeat.
Green Hope's dynamic duo of Luke Massei and Bryce Dixon proved tough for Cleveland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Massei threw for 308 yards and 5 touchdowns and Dixon had 121 yards receiving. Daniel Gretsch helped Green Hope's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 97 yards.
The Falcons' dynamic duo of Massei and Dixon proved to be unstoppable against the Rams, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Dixon was the best receiver in the league this week as Green Hope bested Cleveland.
Massei put up the best numbers in passing as Kwame Dixon's team topped Marc Morris' team.
Damarus Williams was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 168 yards as Fuquay-Varina bested the Rams. Tyler Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 117 yards on the ground.
He went 22-30 with 0 interceptions.
Green Hope's Massei and Elijah Murrane have formed a dream team this season, leading 4A Conference 13 in both passing and receiving yards. Massei has thrown for 935 yards this season, while Murrane has 28 catches for 360 yards. Cary's Isaiah Gibbons leads the league in rushing yards with 542.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Falcons and Athens Drive face off next week.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Chris Martin's team takes on Green Hope. The Jaguars are currently in sixth, while the Falcons are in first.
The Bengals and West Johnston played the most contested game in the league this week, with the Bengals eventually emerging with a 22-17 victory. Williams during the win.
