Southwestern Randolph put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Randleman Tigers 54-38. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Tigers are ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacquline McDaniel, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. Southwestern Randolph pushed their record up to 25-0 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Randleman, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
Looking ahead, Southwestern Randolph will look to defend their home court on Friday against Uwharrie Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. Uwharrie Charter Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
