Ben Simons put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Saturday. He struck out 13 batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Simons' effort led Coal Ridge over University and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
