The Burrell Bucs were the 30-8 winner over the Derry Trojans when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Burrell took a 29-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Derry on Friday. Burrell has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Burrell still got an impressive performance from Devin Beattie, who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns.
Ahmad Ward was on fire for Derry: he rushed for 249 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry.
Burrell now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Derry, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.
Burrell will head out on the road to face off against Apollo Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Derry, they will be playing at home against Ligonier Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ligonier Valley is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
