It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Palmetto Panthers can now relate to. They took a 19-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western on Friday. It was the first time this season that Palmetto let down their fans at home.
Among those leading the charge was Koby Howard, who rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 80 receiving yards. Davi Belfort was another key contributor, rushing for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Palmetto's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Western, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Western will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Columbus is ranked 20th, while Western is ranked 25th).
