West Alameda County - Shoreline recap Oct. 30, 2012
Tennyson extended the longest winning streak in West Alameda County - Shoreline this week by beating Mt. Eden, 33-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Lancers.
Alameda moved up to 754 from 791 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Hornets climbed the ranks as a result of topping San Lorenzo 22-6.
Tennyson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gilberto Magallanes threw for 130 and two touchdowns and Jalen Crusoe had 65 yards receiving. On the ground Joshua Handy chipped in 106 yards. Jacob Brown helped Tennyson's passing attack out by catching two balls for 35 yards.
The Lancers' Magallanes and Datron Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Magallanes has thrown for 1146 yards this season, while Smith, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 27 catches for 452 yards. Devante McGowan from the Monarchs leads the league in rushing with 734 yards.
A big matchup in West Alameda County - Shoreline this week will be when Piedmont takes on Mt. Eden. As it stands, the Highlanders are in second, while Paul Perenon's team is in third.
