The Northgate Vikings suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by Creekside 64-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northgate has scored all season.
Randria Wilcher and DeAsia Stinson certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Wilcher scored 18 points along with two blocks, while Stinson dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Wilcher posted two or more blocks. Holly Metz was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Creekside was led to victory by Sydnee Hunter and C?india Dennis. Hunter scored 19 points along with four steals, while Dennis scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Hunter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lia Moore, who scored nine points.
This is the second loss in a row for Northgate and nudges their season record down to 13-6. As for Creekside, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northgate will take on Drew at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Drew is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Creekside, they will head out on the road to take on Mays at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
