If the Monroe Red Jackets were feeling good off their 53-23 takedown of the Early College Sharks last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Monroe was dealt a 75-45 loss at the hands of Edison Tech on Monday.
Monroe's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janique Hart, who scored 13 points. Kamyra Clyburn was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Monroe now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Edison Tech, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe will be home for the holidays to greet Young Women's College Prep at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Young Women's College Prep is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Edison Tech will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on East at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th.
