On the hitting side, Clinton let Cailyn Willis and Jaelyn Gholar run wild. Willis went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Gholar went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Gholar has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Rhodes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Puckett got the win against Scott Central on Thursday by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Wolves have won 21 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Raegan Hardin made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Myla Vanderford and Aubree Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Vanderford went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Thomas went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Thomas has posted since back in February. Brooke Shivers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Puckett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scott Central only posted an OBP of .053.
Clinton's record is now 15-10. As for Puckett, their record now sits at 23-4.
Everything went Clinton's way against Puckett in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Clinton made off with a 16-6 victory. Do the Arrows have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
