Basketball Recap: Gabby Harris Key Part of a Team Effort in Colts Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Manila, Rivercrest was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Gosnell Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 55-40. The Colts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rivercrest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabby Harris, who posted eight points along with eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Gonzalez, who had eight points and 12 rebounds.

Rivercrest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Rivercrest's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4. As for Gosnell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rivercrest will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Marked Tree at 7:15 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Marked Tree will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Rivercrest surely won't give up without a fight. Gosnell also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Harrisburg at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
