Phillips hasn't had much luck against Simeon recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Phillips Wildcats will take on the Simeon Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. Phillips is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.
Last Saturday, Phillips beat Lake Forest Academy 51-39. The Wildcats pushed the score to 45-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Caxys cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Phillips to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nila Willis, who made all 7 shots she took to post 14 points. That's the most points Willis has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dajia Cohen, who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points.
Meanwhile, Simeon came out on top against IC Catholic Prep on Tuesday by a score of 59-45 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Phillips better keep an eye on Dijiona Berrien. She was instrumental in Simeon's win, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. Berrien is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 12 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiya Pillow, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 16 points and six steals.
Simeon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Phillips has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Simeon, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Phillips just can't miss this season, having made 49.9% of their field goals per game. It's a different story for Simeon, though, as they've only made 31.7% of their shots this season. Given Phillips' sizable advantage in that area, Simeon will need to find a way to close that gap.
Phillips was able to grind out a solid victory over Simeon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 46-36. Does Phillips have another victory up their sleeve, or will Simeon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
