The Chardon Hilltoppers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 51-24 win over North at home. Chardon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 27 points or more this season.
North lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cami Welty, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds. Welty is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelie Cisternino, who scored six points along with two steals.
Chardon's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Chardon will head out on the road to take on Mayfield at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. North won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against John Hay at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. John Hay is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.3 points per game.
