3A Region IV District 27 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Wimberley extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region IV District 27 this week by beating Fredericksburg, 47-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Texans.
Navarro took down Bandera 48-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Lj Anderson ran for 132 yards in the win.
Canyon Lake's dynamic duo of Branson Belcher and Doug Hubnik proved tough for Boerne to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Belcher threw for 150 yards and one touchdown and Hubnik had 65 yards receiving. Matt Andress helped Canyon Lake's passing attack out by catching two balls for 37 yards.
The Greyhounds' Quinten Dormady and Paul Burns have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dormady has thrown for 2075 yards this season, while Burns has 27 catches for 576 yards. Zane Conlin from the Panthers leads the league in rushing with 1030 yards.
Navarro's Anderson needs only 40 yards against Canyon Lake next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 116 carries Anderson has accumulated 960 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Boerne takes on Wimberley. As it stands, Mike Dormady's team is in third, while Weldon Nelms' team is in second.
Les Goad's team led 3A Region IV District 27 in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Bulldogs. Anderson in the win.
