On Friday Anclote take on River Ridge at 7:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close contest.
There's no need to mince words: Anclote lost to Calvary Christian last week, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 13-61. Anclote got a solid performance out of senior Tyler Norman, who caught passes for 68 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory.
River Ridge had a rough outing against Mitchell two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. River Ridge took the match and then some with a 45-0 win over West Park Prep. With River Ridge ahead 35-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
River Ridge's victory lifted them to 1-2 while Anclote's loss dropped them down to 0-2. In their win, River Ridge relied heavily on junior Anthony Roussos, who rushed for 97 yards and 1 touchdown; a key strategy for Anclote will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
