Section 3 Class D - East recap Oct. 3, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sauquoit Valley, who took down 193rd ranked Dolgeville, 13-0.
The Indians moved up to 310 from 421 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 3 Class D - East. Sauquoit Valley was able to make the jump by beating the Blue Devils 13-0.
Cooperstown's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Sawyer Haney threw for 184 and one touchdown and Kevin Segit had 83 yards receiving. On the ground Haney chipped in 39 yards. Scott Segit helped Cooperstown's passing attack out by catching two balls for 47 yards.
Cooperstown's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Redskins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Noah Sims has thrown for 312 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Segit has 15 catches for 263 yards. Lucas Lyons leads the league in rushing with 197 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Rocky Corigliano's team takes on Mohawk. The Indians are currently in third, while the Mohicans are in fourth.
West Canada Valley extended the longest winning streak in Section 3 Class D - East this week by beating New York Mills, 38-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
