The Borger Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 17th straight loss. They were outmatched by Perryton on the road and fell 74-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Borger in their matchups with Perryton: they've now lost five in a row.
Tahqulin Brooks and Kaeden Jennings certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Brooks scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and four steals, while Jennings scored 16 points along with three steals. Jennings continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played.
Borger's loss was their 15th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Perryton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Borger will face off against Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Borger in Texas (Canyon is ranked 220th, while Borger is ranked 1282nd). As for Perryton, they will head out on the road to take on Pampa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pampa and Perryton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
