Lee has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They and the Union Bears will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Lee was the victim of a tough 70-48 loss at the hands of Rye Cove.
Despite the defeat, Lee got a solid performance out of Kinley Huff, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 60.4% of Lee's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Bishop, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Union's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Honaker 58-30. While losing is never fun, Union can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Honaker is ranked 97th).
Lee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Lee came up short against Union when the teams last played last Thursday, falling 69-62. Can Lee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
