Meanwhile, while Carter put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Fulton. The Green Hornets blew past the Falcons 10-0. The Green Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Mayson Lang made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched. Lang was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Burnette, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kingston Griph, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
The victory made it two in a row for Carter and bumps their season record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13-1.
Morristown-Hamblen East might still be hurting after the 11-4 defeat they got from Carter when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
