West Laurens is 0-4 against Griffin since December of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The West Laurens Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Griffin Bears at 7:30 p.m. West Laurens is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses.
West Laurens struggled with assists on Friday (Baldwin had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. West Laurens was outmatched by Baldwin on the road and fell 91-49. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Laurens in their matchups with Baldwin: they've now lost nine in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Rj Whipple, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Dorian Watkins, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Griffin pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 83-59 loss to Spalding might stick with them for a while.
West Laurens' defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Griffin, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-11.
West Laurens suffered a grim 62-37 defeat to Griffin in their previous matchup back in January. Can West Laurens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
