Homer and Plain Dealing are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Pelicans will welcome the Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Homer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Homer will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Bossier on Thursday. The Pelicans were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Bearkats. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pelicans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Homer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bossier only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Plain Dealing fell victim to Haynesville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Gldn Tornado, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Cade DeMoss made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Plain Dealing's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 9-2 (and 4-10-1 when he doesn't).
Homer's victory bumped their record up to 17-15. As for Plain Dealing, they moved to 13-12-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Homer has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .557. However, it's not like Plain Dealing struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Homer got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 against Plain Dealing by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Pelicans repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
