The Classical Academy Titans pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palmer. The Classical Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The Classical Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Osterloh, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. Osterloh scored a full 36.2% of The Classical Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Wenger, who scored 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Even though they lost, The Classical Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmer only racked up 21.
Palmer was led to victory by Walker Asp and Ayden Yunker. Asp scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds, while Yunker scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. Another player making a difference was J'twane Mike, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
The Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Palmer, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
The Classical Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mesa Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Mesa Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday. As for Palmer, they will take on Pueblo Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pueblo Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
