On Tuesday, Independence got the win against Brooklyn by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Independence was: they took every set by at least 18 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-5, 25-7.
Independence can attribute much of their success to Sofia Pichert, who had six aces and five digs. That's the most aces Pichert has posted over her last ten matches.
Pichert wasn't the only good servers: Independence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Hoban came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bears.
Archbishop Hoban never let North Royalton on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-6, 25-22.
Independence's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Archbishop Hoban, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
