The Catholic - N.I. Panthers will be playing at home against the University Lab Cubs at 3:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Last Wednesday,  everything went Catholic - N.I.'s way against Vermilion Catholic as Catholic - N.I. made off with  a  16-1 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Catholic - N.I.
  Addisyn Derouen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and only one walk). Derouen has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  a single  walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Derouen was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kenley Sonnier, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with a  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI.  Paityne Simon was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 St. Michael typically has all the answers at home, but  on Friday University Lab proved too difficult a challenge. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with  an  11-1 victory.
 Like Catholic - N.I., University Lab also got a great game from a two-way player:  Gabby Fontenot. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Fontenot was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  London Harvey was a standout: she scored four  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Charlotte Lowe, who  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, a  run,  and a  double.
 Catholic - N.I. is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last nine contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record  this season. As for University Lab, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
 Saturday's   match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Catholic - N.I. has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .546.
