Union is 0-10 against the Leopards since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Union Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Lakewood Leopards at 7:30 p.m. Union is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Union had to suffer through a rough 79-29 loss at the hands of the Cougars. Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-17.
Meanwhile, Lakewood lost to the Eagles on the road by a decisive 63-48 margin on Tuesday. Lakewood was down 48-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the defeat, Lakewood got a solid performance out of Cameron Williams, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Dashaun Carr, who scored 11 points.
Union's defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Lakewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Union might still be hurting after the 70-49 loss they got from the Leopards in their previous meeting back in January. Can Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
