Baseball Game Preview: McAllen Memorial Mustangs vs. McAllen Bulldogs

For the second straight game, McAllen Memorial will face off against McAllen. The Mustangs will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

McAllen Memorial fell victim to McAllen and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Mustangs haven't been shut out since back in March.

For McAllen's part, the result came thanks to Geovoni Rodriguez's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Rodriguez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Justin Garza was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Lara, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

McAllen Memorial's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-12. As for McAllen, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17-3.
