Notre Dame extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Notre Dame saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rj Andino, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
East Stroudsburg North's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.
On East Stroudsburg North's side, Colin Howell and Josiah Caceres made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Howell didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Caceres tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Howell has posted since back in March of 2025. At the plate, Howell went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Caceres went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those runs marked the first that Caceres has scored this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Robby Ford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chris Roman-Whittaker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Notre Dame didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-6 loss against Shenandoah Valley on the 4th. As for East Stroudsburg North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-0 defeat against Freedom on the 6th.
