TCAL Division I - District 2 (6 Man) recap Oct. 3, 2012
Methodist Children's Home extended the longest winning streak in TCAL Division I - District 2 (6 Man) this week by beating Austin Christian HomeSchool, 55-32. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Allen Academy took down Emery/Weiner 70-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jake Georgiades threw for 149 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Live Oak Classical's dynamic duo of Paul McCaw and Samuel Still proved tough for Canyon Creek Christian Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. McCaw threw for 210 yards and four touchdowns and Still had 89 yards receiving. Philip Moffatt helped Live Oak Classical's passing attack out by catching two balls for 56 yards.
Tyrone Smith was the most productive running back in the league this week. In eight carries, he ran for 146 yards as Methodist Children's Home defeated the Cougars. Chris McLeod also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.
Moffatt made the biggest impact on defense this week as Live Oak Classical bested Canyon Creek Christian Academy. The 6-foot-0 freshman recorded one fumble.
5-foot-8 quarterback McCaw of Jordan Barker's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1137. He has also thrown 21 touchdowns. On the ground, the Rams' Mason Schieffer has rushed for 611 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Steven Savala. The Allen Academy star has 28 catches for 423 yards.
