It was a good run, but the Calvary Academy Warrior unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a serious blow against King's Christian, falling 71-28. Calvary Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-16.
When it comes to explaining why Calvary Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jake Nelson. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Nelson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played.
Jason Brice continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for King's Christian, scoring 18 points. Brice is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Johnson, who scored 12 points.
Calvary Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for King's Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Cumberland Christian the next time they take the court. Calvary Academy will head out to face the Crusaders at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, while the will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
