First Colonial came out on top against Salem on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Patriots put the hurt on the Sundevils with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Patriots have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Maura Haesler, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Leroy, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one double.

First Colonial pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

First Colonial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Tallwood on the 14th. As for Salem, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 defeat against Green Run on the 15th.
