Newton is 9-1 against Robinson since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Maroons at 4:30 p.m. Newton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Newton will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Sullivan on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Redskins with a sharp 15-5 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Lexie Ghast made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Audrie Reich was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Flowers, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Newton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Robinson entered their tilt with Charleston on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Maroons have posted against the Trojans since April 29, 2016.
Robinson also got a great performance from Avah Myers as she tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kate Rehmel, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Newton now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Robinson, their record now sits at 18-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Newton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Robinson struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Newton's way against Robinson in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Newton made off with a 9-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
