The Bellevue Broncos came tearing into Saturday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Colon by a score of 65-56. Given Bellevue's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Magi are ranked 549th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Magi players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nic Mock, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Mock has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Dalton Williams was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Bellevue's win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Colon, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Bellevue will head out on the road to face off against the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillsdale Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Colon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Indians at 7:00 p.m.
