The Garfield G-Men will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Conneaut Spartans at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Garfield's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Garfield can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Brookfield 60-25 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-19.
Keegan Sell was his usual excellent self, rushing for 324 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also picking up 37 receiving yards. Sell really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Eric Geddes was another key contributor, rushing for 131 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Meanwhile, Conneaut came up short against Madison on Friday and fell 27-18. While losing is never fun, Conneaut can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 354th, while Madison is ranked 152nd).
Garfield's win was their tenth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41 points. As for Conneaut, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Garfield against Conneaut in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 48-21 win. Will Garfield repeat their success, or does Conneaut have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
