After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Arlington Heights, Polytechnic was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Wyatt Chaparrals. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Parrots as it put an end to their 13-match losing streak.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-98) Polytechnic actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-21, 17-25, 16-25, 25-16, 15-13.
Lindsay Vargas was the offensive standout of the contest as she had eight aces.
Vargas wasn't the only good servers: Polytechnic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 29 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
