Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Barnwell's 14th in Last 15 Outings

Barnwell lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Colleton County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Warhorses were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Cougars on Monday. The Warhorses might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Jaidyn Devore made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendall O'Berry, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Genesis Walker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Barnwell is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Colleton County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-4.

Coming up, Barnwell will take on South Aiken at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Colleton County, they will welcome Bishop England at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars are facing the Battling Bishops at the right time seeing as the Battling Bishops are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
