The Annenberg Panthers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 79-33 loss at the hands of Downtown Magnets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Annenberg has suffered against Downtown Magnets since December 10, 2018.
Downtown Magnets' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Calvin Viola, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Viola scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Yuri Hernandez, who scored 19 points.
Annenberg's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Downtown Magnets, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Annenberg will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Aspire Ollin at 4:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Aspire Ollin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday. As for Downtown Magnets, they will head out on the road to square off against Animo Bunche at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
