The Isle of Wight Academy Chargers will head out to square off against the Walsingham Academy Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Isle of Wight Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 14-9 win over Grace Christian School on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Jake Wells made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Wells was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Adam Ralston was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Jason Chapman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Isle of Wight Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Walsingham Academy posted their closest victory since March 26th on Tuesday. They skirted past Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 4-2. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Walsingham Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Ferrie, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Isle of Wight Academy pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Walsingham Academy, their record now sits at 9-7-1.
Isle of Wight Academy suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Walsingham Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
