Boardman barely beat Roosevelt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Rough Riders on Thursday. Considering the Spartans have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Boardman got a massive performance out of Laci Jurus, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave Jurus a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelynn Torres, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Boardman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17-1.
Looking ahead, Boardman will head out to face off against Canfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
