The Newfane Panthers came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 73-43 victory over Akron. Newfane has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.
Newfane's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Seitz, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Seitz has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Capen Mac, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Newfane pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Akron, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Albion the next time they take the court. Akron will host Albion at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Newfane will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
