Even though the KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Warriors scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the South Atlanta Hornets still came out on top. South Atlanta took their contest against KIPP Atlanta Collegiate 71-58. That result was just more of the same for these two, as South Atlanta also won the last time the pair played back in February.
South Atlanta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saku Hurst, who scored 21 points along with 9 rebounds. Hurst is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Duor Duor, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
South Atlanta's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
South Atlanta will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Cobb Christian at 7:00 p.m. North Cobb Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, they will head out on the road to face off against Walker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Walker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
