Hazleton Area has gone a perfect 3-0 against Greater Nanticoke Area recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Hazleton Area is taking a road trip to challenge Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:15 p.m. Hazleton Area will be strutting in after a win while Greater Nanticoke Area will be coming in after a loss.

While Hazleton Area's victory against Liberty wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Hazleton Area sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Liberty on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won three in a row.

Chris Peters looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Hazleton Area got a big performance out of Ryan Racho, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Bryant Diaz, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Greater Nanticoke Area's offense. They lost 10-0 to Lake-Lehman on Thursday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

Hazleton Area pushed their record up to 1-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Greater Nanticoke Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went Hazleton Area's way against Greater Nanticoke Area when the teams last played back in April of 2019, as Hazleton Area made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hazleton Area since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
