The Magee Trojans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 55-47 win over Hazlehurst. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Magee also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Nicole Sandifer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 25 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Magee's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamya Brown, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Magee pushed their record up to 9-16 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Hazlehurst, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Magee will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. As for Hazlehurst, they will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Magee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
