The Maud Cardinals lost to the Pewitt Brahmas back in December of 2022, but the Maud Cardinals didn't allow the Pewitt Brahmas the same satisfaction on Friday. Maud sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 win over Pewitt. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maud.
Maud's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklyn Osborne led the charge by scoring 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bayla White, who scored 9 points.
Maud is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Pewitt, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10.
Maud will take on Marshall Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pewitt, they will head out on the road to face off against Hooks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hooks presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pewitt in Texas (Hooks is ranked 141st, while Pewitt is ranked 1338th).
