The North Port Bobcats posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Lemon Bay. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Port.
North Port found their leader in underclassman Taylor Davidson, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davidson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby McFarlane, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Lemon Bay lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Myah Dickerson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds. Dickerson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Maya Collins was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.
North Port has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for Lemon Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.
North Port will head out on the road to take on Venice at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Venice will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Lemon Bay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Aubrey Rogers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
