Fuqua hasn't had much luck against Southampton Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fuqua is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against The New Community School on Monday as they made off with a 15-5 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Josh Simon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Jackson Hicks was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Fuqua is 2-1 when Hicks posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luke Royall, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Southampton Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Isle of Wight Academy 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted against the Chargers since May 2, 2017.
Southampton Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Darden, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run. Ethan Hatch was another, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Southampton Academy and bumps their season record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Fuqua, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fuqua has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Southampton Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fuqua suffered a grim 20-2 defeat to Southampton Academy when the teams last played back in March. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
