The Bennett Tigers waltzed into Saturday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 50-28 margin over Bishop Machebeuf. Fans of Bennett have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Leading Bennett to victory were Jessica Venneberg and Lily Venneberg. Venneberg dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Venneberg scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Venneberg has scored at least 25% of Bennett's points. Raquel Thorpe was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 6 steals.
Bennett's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Bishop Machebeuf, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bennett's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Byers at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th. Byers will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Bennett is ranked 21st).
