The Morristown Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to challenge the Hauser Jets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Morristown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Morristown was able to grind out a solid victory over Edinburgh, taking the game 52-41. The victory was just what Morristown needed coming off of a 60-31 loss in their prior game.
DDanika Rutledge continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayla Keithley, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Hauser earned a 45-38 victory over Clarksville on Saturday. The win was just what Hauser needed coming off of a 66-20 defeat in their prior matchup.
Hauser got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Manley out in front who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Manley has scored all season. Bella Kilps was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Morristown's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-12. Hauser's record now sits at 6-15.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Morristown have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 24.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hauser struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 23.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Morristown beat Hauser 48-36 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morristown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
