The Springwood Wildcats came tearing into Monday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 58-48 victory over Lakeside School. For Springwood, this counts as revenge for the 45-38 defeat Lakeside School walked away with the last time they faced one another last Tuesday.
Adalyn Helms and Chloe Helms certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Helms scored 20 points, while Helms scored 18 points. The game was Helms' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Dylin White was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Springwood has yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Lakeside School, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springwood will take on Macon-East Montgomery Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Macon-East Montgomery Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lakeside School, they will play host again and welcome Crenshaw Christian Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crenshaw Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
